MATE is an EU project coordinated by the Cypriot company Mediterranean Management Center (MMC) based in Nicosia. It is an innovative approach to the acquisition of intercultural skills by national and foreign students of various universities.
The implementation of the project’s objectives is carried out by the cooperation of leading EU universities that aim to bring these groups of students together providing a series of strategic actions and programs, with the ultimate aim of eliminating their prejudices and creating strong bonds cooperation.
MATE’s Objectives:
- Cultivating students’ intercultural skills and developing an active social network.
- Combating hate speech and addressing racial prejudices, with the aim of fostering the sense of respect for diversity.
- Creating opportunities to students form different countries and scientific fields in order to study abroad.
- Launching a series of MATE actions and programs that encourage and enhance diversity within universities.
- Organization of activities that aim to promote the value of human rights as fundamental to the defense of democracy.
