Initiation of the laboratory’s informal operation
The Media Informatics Laboratory offers high quality education and significant research contributions. Through a great number of laboratory courses taught by the laboratory’s staff and which require the use of computers and specialized applications, students become able to handle technological tools related to the field of Communication and Journalism Studies in order to improve their digital skills and understand the contemporary media landscape.
All the members of the laboratory are involved in a significant number of funded research projects that enhance academic knowledge in the subject areas covered by the Media Informatics Laboratory and provide collaborative opportunities to postdoctoral, doctoral and postgraduate researchers.
The Media Informatics Laboratory organizes a series of workshops around educational and research topics. Workshops are addressed to students and professional journalists who aim to improve their knowledge in fields related to communication and digital journalism.
The Media Informatics Laboratory offers a wide range of lifelong learning programs to students, media professionals and people who are interested in topics, such as the field of Journalism and Communication Studies.
The Media Informatics Laboratory provides services to third parties (research programs, educational structures, academic staff) that are ralated to its research fields.
