MedDMO is an initiative of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) to tackle misinformation in Greece, Cyprus and Malta. It is made up of a network of investigative journalists, media literacy experts and academics who collaborate to eradicate misinformation in Mediterranean region.

The project consists of research contributions and actions that aim to identify disinformation campaigns, detect and categorize users’ behavior in social media so as to clarify which parameters lead people to share fake news. At the same time, the project organizes and promotes a number of education activities to help people deal with misinformation and provides digital tools in order for media experts to detect misleading content.
